Matt Mills of the Oregon Department of Forestry will be sharing information on emerald
ash borer (EAB). Emerald ash borer (Agrilus planipennis) is an invasive wood-boring
beetle from NE Asia and is responsible for the death and decline of tens of millions of ash
trees in North America since 2002. EAB was discovered in Forest Grove, Oregon in 2022
and has been found in additional counties since.
This presentation covers how to prepare for EAB’s arrival, including its biology and life
cycle, signs and symptoms, current distribution, impacts on communities and natural
areas, and planning steps.
