Presentation: How Trees and Understory Plants are Responding to Climate Change in the Klamath Mountains
Presenter: Erik Jules

Location: In-person presentation at the Siskiyou chapter meeting at Southern Oregon University Science Building, Room 161. Join us in-person or Zoom in from home. To register for Zoom, go to https://bit.ly/npsotalks.

Two research projects will be presented. The first is a study of the possible impacts of climate change on the understory plants of our region, and the second will focus on the response of dominant conifer species to decades of fire suppression and climate change.

Erik Jules is a professor of biology at Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata, CA. He has been conducting research in southwestern Oregon and northern California for more than thirty years. Some of his past work has been focused on western trillium, Port Orford cedar, serpentine fens, and tree communities of the region.
