In this presentation, Steven Yeager will explore the principles and practices of ethical foraging, with a focus on protecting plant populations, preserving ecological integrity, and relationships with the land.
Participants will learn how to identify opportunities for sustainable harvest, assess the health and abundance of wild plant communities, and minimize their impact on sensitive ecosystems. The presentation will also discuss common native species used for food, medicine, and craft, along with practical guidelines for responsible collection.

About the presenter:
Steven Yeager was longtime instructor with the Columbines School of Botanical Studies and serves as executive vice president of Mountain Rose Herbs and is current president of NPSO. Drawing on decades of experience in herbal medicine, native plants, sustainability, and conservation, he is passionate about promoting responsible stewardship of wild plant populations and fostering deeper connections between people and place.
