Field Trip: Muddy Valley Habitat Reserve
Leader: Jordan Anderson
Learn about native prairie and wetland restoration at Muddy Valley Habitat Reserve with Yamhill Soil and Water Conservation District Conservation Projects Manager, Jordan Anderson.
Walk the restored wetlands and native prairies, enjoy the abundance of wildflowers and wildlife, and learn about the history of the property. This large-scale restoration project, which began in 2021, is a multi-year effort to convert 90 acres of previous hayfield into a wildlife haven. The field trip will focus on wildflower identification to assist Yamhill Soil and Water Conservation District in understanding what species are thriving. No prior plant ID knowledge is required.
Please be aware that this property is relatively remote and undeveloped. There are no restroom facilities on site. Please dress for the weather, wear appropriate shoes, and bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and insect repellant.
This property in Yamhill County is managed for sensitive native plants and wildlife. It is not normally open to the public. The address will be provided to registered participants via email a few days before the event. Registration is free but required. Register at the link below.
