Field Trip: Lily Lake Trail

Join Armand Rebishke, Siuslaw National Forest botanist/ecologist, and Bob Hladky,
Emerald Chapter secretary and former Siuslaw National Forest botanist, on a walk around
Lily Lake, north of Florence. We will meet at 10:00 am at Lowes in west Eugene near the
tall trees to carpool or at Baker Beach Campground at 11:30 for a picnic lunch. After
lunch, we’ll walk the loop trail and venture off trail to see several rare plants including
Lycopodium inundatum (bog clubmoss) and Vaccinium oxycoccus (swamp cranberry) in a
boggy wetland and Schoenoplectus californicus (California bullrush) near the junction of
the stream and the lake. Bring a lunch, water, and rubber boots for the bog unless you
are comfortable walking in wet boots! Sign up here.
