Field Trip: Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge
Leader: Ron Klump
Location: 100 Wildlife Refuge Rd., Glenwood, WA
The Willard Springs Foot Trail is a 3.8-mile loop along the edge of the open marsh and into the pines. Beginning at the refuge headquarters, it parallels the west shore of the old Conboy Lake lakebed, with views across the lakebed and north to the 12,000-foot Mount Adams. The trail is mostly flat with a couple gentle grades on the return. The different habitats along the trail provide a diverse variety of wildflower species. This is a joint hike with the Suksdorf Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society and the NPSO Portland Chapter. Hike participation is limited to twelve people. To sign up for the hike or for more information contact Ron Klump at kl******@***il.com.
