Event: Peck’s Penstemon Habitat Improvement Post-Fire Native Planting

November 10 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Tuesday, November 10, 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
Event: Peck’s Penstemon Habitat Improvement Post-Fire Native Planting
Location: 12 miles NE of Sisters, 44.415340, -121.423391

Want to help support native habitat of sensitive Peck’s Penstemon populations? Come join FS employees and youth crews in the westernmost portion of the Crooked River National Grassland which burned at higher severity during the 2021 Grandview and 2025 Flat wildfires. We will be planting bunchgrasses and forbs along sensitive plant populations infested by invasive annual grasses (medusahead rye and cheatgrass) which have increased in cover post-wildfire. Installation of native plants will help promote and support native habitat in burned areas that are more vulnerable to annual grass dominance.

Due to the risk of standing dead trees in the area, please bring a hard hat if possible. Please ensure you bring appropriate field work clothes, shoes, and work gloves. Bring plenty of water, snacks, and lunch. This is a rain or shine event.

RSVP here.
