This presentation will explain why western juniper has expanded so dramatically across the landscape, covering its ecology, biology, and the key factors driving its spread. The talk will distinguish old‑growth juniper from its younger counterparts, explain juniper–water relationships, and highlight what realistic rangeland restoration looks like in Central Oregon. It will also touch on wildlife values, potential products, and practical management considerations to help land stewards make informed decisions.
