Chapter Meeting/Presentation: Planting for People and Wildlife: Community Habitat Projects in Action
Presenter: Hannah Wuerfel, Habitat Restoration Coordinator at Think Wild
Location: Larkspur Community Center
This presentation highlights two community-led restoration efforts in Central Oregon: the Backyard Native Habitat Consult Program, which helps residents transform their yards into wildlife-friendly spaces with native plants, and the Crooked River Native Plant Stewardship Project, which is creating a community native plant garden along the Crooked River in Prineville with the help of students from local schools. Learn how these projects support local biodiversity, enhance ecosystem health, and foster connections between people and the natural world through hands-on education and community engagement. We’ll share practical tips for creating native habitat at home and ways to get involved with these ongoing projects! For more information contact hd******************@***il.com.
