Field Trip: Multorpor Fen, Government Camp

Location: Mt. Hood SkiBowl
Join us to explore an amazing subalpine (elevation 4000 feet) wetland habitat near Government Camp. Expect an easy, mostly flat, mostly dry, two-mile walk in part sun and shade. We’ll look for great sundew (Drosera anglica), round-leaved sundew (Drosera rotundifolia), and marsh/purple cinquefoil (Comarum palustre) as well as many common Cascade plants, and a few uncommon ones unique to fens.
Bring lunch, water, and a charged cell phone. Footwear amenable to a little wetness is helpful, but rubber boots aren’t necessary. Trekking poles, field guides, and binoculars are optional. A plant list will be available. Sign up by contacting the trip leader at sc*********@***il.com
