Field Trip: Lookout Mountain, Oregon

Location: The round trip from Portland is 150 miles paved, 12 miles gravel. The trip leader will provide carpool details. A Northwest Forest Pass is required.
This is a moderate hike of 2.6 miles with 570 feet of elevation gain. Lookout Mountain is east of Mount Hood and the Hood River Valley. We’ll hike from High Prairie up to the top of Lookout Mountain and return. We will see a variety of forests, meadows, and rocky outcrops with lots of good plants. This is a joint hike with the Suksdorf Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society and the NPSO Portland Chapter.
