{"id":4739,"date":"2025-08-03T18:37:25","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T01:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.npsoregon.org\/wp\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=4739"},"modified":"2025-08-03T18:37:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T01:37:25","slug":"siskiyou-plant-explorers-hike-to-bigelow-lakes","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.npsoregon.org\/wp\/event\/siskiyou-plant-explorers-hike-to-bigelow-lakes\/","title":{"rendered":"Siskiyou Plant Explorers Hike to Bigelow Lakes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Saturday, August 9, 8am-3pm<br \/>\nSiskiyou Plant Explorers Hike to Bigelow Lakes<br \/>\nMeeting Location:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Williams Grange, 20100 Williams Hwy, Williams OR\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Hike Leader: Matt Dybala<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This outing will explore plant identification in mature subalpine forests, meadows and wetlands.\u00a0 We will be hiking 1.5+ miles to the water&#8217;s edge at Bigelow Lake.\u00a0 The first half of the hike follows a level old forest road, then turns uphill towards the meadow and lake, which is an additional 1\/2 mile of hiking uphill on a slight ascent.\u00a0 The open meadow is full of endemic and Siskiyou native wildflowers, but it can be challenging crossing over shallow wet areas to arrive at the lake.
