DESCRIPTION:Date: December 19th\, 2026 at 9:30am  \nField Trip: Off-trail Botany Hike in the Split Rock Creek Drainage of Talent\nMeeting Location: Talent Elementary School parking lot\, 307 Wagner Creek Rd\, Talent\, OR 97540 at 9:30am\nLeader: Wayne Rolle\, retired Forest Service botanist  \nJoin Wayne Rolle for an opportunity to see and enjoy the flora of local riparian\, wetland\, forest and meadow plant communities of the Split Rock Creek watershed in the Siskiyou Crest vicinity\, south of Talent. The hike will be a full day cross-country in fairly steep terrain. The group will travel only a few miles but should expect 1\,100-1\,500 feet elevation gain and loss at a relatively leisurely pace. There will be frequent stops to talk about vascular plants\, mosses\, lichens\, and maybe fungi.
