DESCRIPTION:Friday\, June 5\, 10:00 am – 4:30 pm\nField Trip: Lily Lake Trail\nLeader: Bob Hladky and Armand Rebishke\nJoin Armand Rebishke\, Siuslaw National Forest botanist/ecologist\, and Bob Hladky\,\nEmerald Chapter secretary and former Siuslaw National Forest botanist\, on a walk around\nLily Lake\, north of Florence. We will meet at 10:00 am at Lowes in west Eugene near the\ntall trees to carpool or at Baker Beach Campground at 11:30 for a picnic lunch. After\nlunch\, we’ll walk the loop trail and venture off trail to see several rare plants including\nLycopodium inundatum (bog clubmoss) and Vaccinium oxycoccus (swamp cranberry) in a\nboggy wetland and Schoenoplectus californicus (California bullrush) near the junction of\nthe stream and the lake. Bring a lunch\, water\, and rubber boots for the bog unless you\nare comfortable walking in wet boots! Sign up here.

DESCRIPTION:Tuesday June 23rd\, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm\nField Trip: Seed Collection in Solstice Light at Vesper Meadow\nLeader: Jeanine Moyer\, Director at Vesper Meadow \nJoin Vesper Meadow Director Jeanine Moy and friends from the Siskiyou Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon during the golden hours at the scenic Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve for a seed collection walk. We’ll kick off the event with light refreshments and head off into the long light of the evening to collect early summer seeds in the meadow. Volunteers will enjoy the beauty of the Preserve in the evening and have opportunities to learn about native plants of the Cascade-Siskiyou\, their pollinators\, and human-connections. We’ll talk about seed identification and techniques for upland meadow restoration. Native grass and flower seeds will be stored for fall restoration planting in restored meadow plots and demonstration garden areas.
