As one form of celebration the Native Plant Society of Oregon is sponsoring a Florablitz to discover native wild (not cultivated) vascular plants in Oregon during the month of April 2026. Join us by submitting your photographed native vascular plant observations to iNaturalist. Your participation not only facilitates your enjoyment of our spring native plants but further improves botanical knowledge. No experience is necessary. Everyone is encouraged to participate!  All of your uploaded native vascular plant observations that are photographed in Oregon during all of April 2026 will be included automatically. You don’t have to “join” the project but you may do so if you like.

SUMMARY:Field Trip: Baker Creek Trail at Sulphur Springs 
DESCRIPTION:Sunday April 19\, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm \nField Trip: Baker Creek Trail at Sulphur Springs \nLeader: Alexandria Kurowski\nLocation: Baker Creek Bridge Trail\, Mcdonald Forest \nThis trip to the Sulphur Springs area of the McDonald Research Forest north of Corvallis will be an easy hike through a beautiful area to celebrate Native Plant Appreciation month! The walk is 0.24 miles long with a twenty-three-foot elevation gain. Some blooming native wildflowers that might be seen are Delphinium trolliifolium\, Trillium sp.\, Dicentra formosa\, and Cardamine sp. There is a large parking area at the trailhead for Baker Creek. Please bring water and dress appropriately for the weather. Meet at the parking area for Baker Creek Bridge trail on Sulphur Springs Road.
