April 27-May 3, 2008

Oregon will celebrate the fourth annual Native Plant Appreciation Week week from April 27 through May 3, 2008.

This week is a celebration of the amazing diversity of Oregon's 3000+ plant species as well as an opportunity to highlight the natural ecosystems that are so important in sustaining the quality of Oregon's environment. Oregon, Washington and Idaho join together in spreading the celebration of Native Plant Appreciation Week across the Northwest.

What is Native Plant Appreciation Week?

Geum triflorum  photogrphed by Marv Kellar  near La Grande, OR., 6/13/07 Native Plant Appreciation Week  is a time for governmental agencies, non-profit groups, and environmental organizations to highlight their work in protecting native plant species and restoring native plant habitats. Co-sponsors for Native Plant Appreciation Week in Oregon include the Bureau of Land Management of Oregon/Washington and the U.S. Forest Service.
