We host many field trips between February and August and visited many
interesting botanically enriched places in Douglas County, including the
Oregon dunes, the Rogue Umpqua divide, some of our trips focus on rare
species in topographically or geologically unique areas, others the
multitude of flowers of lush meadows. We occasionally visit Jackson
County for a trip to Table Rocks or Josephine County to view the rich plant
diversity in the serpentine rock outcrops. We enjoy exploring the
botanically unique coast for a change of pace too.
We regularly hold meetings on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Mercy
Community Education Center. The meetings begin at 7:00 pm.
The local VA hospital has provided our group with space to create a native
plant garden.
We have begun trail and site preparation, but have not yet begun to plant.
We are planning on planting some natives in the fall of 2006. Call Ron Hatt
at (541) 863-7024 if interested in participating with our garden.

meetings and events, see the latest NPSO Bulletin, or the Umpqua
Valley Section of the Calendar webpage.
